Despite the slower pace of life in Airdrie, Ravenswood offers access to big city amenities. CrossIron Mills is just minutes away while the Calgary International Airport lies a few kilometres to the south. Deerfoot Trail offers a quick, uninterrupted drive to Downtown Calgary.

For those who travel frequently or need quick trips out of town, Ravenswood is well positioned near the QE2 Highway. Stoney Trail offers escapes to Banff and Kananaskis.

Within Airdrie there are a multitude of outdoor parks and walking paths.  Airdrie's Nose Creek Park offers 40 acres of greenspace and over 3 km of paved trails. A pond offers skating in the winter and a home to various species of water fowl, as well as trout, in the summer. Festivals and recreation opportunities occur year round.
